Projecting Toddler Style

This is a simple post dedicated to projects. When I ask Lucy if she wants to a project she runs to the kitchen and sits in the middle of the floor. I have tried to incorporate lots of different textures, mediums and experiences for Luc. Some she loves more than others. Some she attends to longer than others. Some are more of a nightmare to clean-up than others, but all of them have added to her experience trying to things. When we first started doing messy projects she was completely insulted. Now she doesn't understand if we are painting all of her exposed body parts. She loves brushes, gels, paints, markers, rice, beans, lentils, coffee grounds, water, stones, sand, shaving cream. I know she will continue to have similar experiences at Nia House and for that I am grateful. This is one the things I have looked forward to in parenting for years and years before Lucy made me a Mamiya (my ever changing name). I love playing with her and am thrilled that she enjoys projects so much.
Canvas painting. Now we have an L-U-C-Y!

Shaving cream paint...bathtub only!

Farm World: note to me-don't use corn starch
or water next time.
Three types of beans to pour with measuring
spoons into an ice cube tray.

Corn starch paint: cool science experiment. Not a great paint.

Golf tees in a floral Styrofoam. Use the soft kind, not the hard one.

Ocean world. Dollar store sea animals that only
come out when it is time for this project.
Feels disgusting. Very cool.

Foam Soap=Easy and Awesome
